Anti-wrinkle injectable treatments

Anti-wrinkle treatments, are performed by our Doctor’s at NEO and we use two approved products which are prescription only medicine’s that are injected into muscles and used to temporarily improve the look of both moderate to severe laughter lines and frown lines between the eyebrows. These treatments are suitable for both men and women.

Treatments work beneath the skin’s surface and target the underlying muscle activity that causes frown lines and laughter lines to form over time.

Our doctor’s will inject into the muscles that cause wrinkles, temporarily reducing the activity of those muscles. The result is a reduction in the appearance of those lines.

Anti-wrinkle treatments are also a proven option for severe underarm sweating when antiperspirants fail. This treatment temporarily blocks the chemical signals from the nerves that stimulate the sweat glands resulting in reduced sweating.

We use two available botulinum toxins at NEO Skin Lab, please ask us for more details. The medicine – a botulinum toxin that has been isolated from the bacteria – is safe to use and will not give you botulism.

1 unit of Botox® is equivalent to 2.5 units of Dysport®

FAQs

+ Will anti-wrinkle injections make me look fake?

You should not lose the ability to show expression when you are treated by someone who is trained and a medical expert in facial anatomy. It is important to have a consultation with our doctor to talk about the results you want from treatment as well as any precautions and risks from the procedure.

+ When will I see results?

You may begin to notice results within 7 days with the maximum effect visible at 21 days. Results may vary.

+ Does it hurt?

Some clients report that being injected feels like a pinch. We use a vibration device to help reduce any discomfort.

+ How long does the treatment take?

We will discuss your treatment goals to help determine the appropriate treatment areas for you. The actual injection process takes about 15 minutes.

+ How many injections will I need?

For the laughter lines area, your doctor will inject three areas of the orbicularis oculi, the muscle that surrounds the side of the eye. There will be three injections per eye. For the frown lines area, your doctor will administer five injections into the muscle above the eyebrows – one in the procerus muscle and four in the corrugator muscles.

+ Can I expect any side effects?

Side effects associated with the injection include localised pain, infection, inflammation, tenderness, swelling, redness, and/or bleeding/bruising.

+ How long will the effects last?

The results should last around 3 months, and for some people longer. The average results begin to wear off after about 3 months. As with any treatment, the longevity of the results will vary from patient to patient. Men typically require Botox injections more often than women.
