BOTOX® is a prescription medicine that is injected into muscles and used to temporarily improve the look of both moderate to severe crow’s feet lines and frown lines between the eyebrows in adults.
Wrinkles result from a combination of many factors. It’s not just about cellular changes, collagen depletion, or damage caused by free radicals. When you frown or concentrate, the muscles between your brows contract, causing your skin to furrow and fold. And when you squint, the muscles around your eyes contract and cause crow’s feet.
BOTOX® works beneath the skin’s surface and targets the underlying muscle activity that causes frown lines and crow’s feet to form over time.
Your doctor will inject BOTOX® into the muscles that cause frown lines and crow’s feet lines, temporarily reducing the activity of those muscles. The result is a reduction in the appearance of those lines.
Will BOTOX® make me look fake?
BOTOX® is a technique-sensitive treatment. You should not lose the ability to show expression when you are treated by someone who is trained and a medical expert in facial anatomy. It is important to have a consultation with our Doctor to talk about the results you want from treatment as well as any precautions and risks from the procedure.
When will I see results?
You may begin to notice results within 24 to 48 hours with the maximum effect visible at 30 days. Results may vary.
Does it hurt?
Some clients report that being injected with BOTOX® feels like a pinch. We use ice to numb the treatment area. If you are concerned about discomfort, we can apply a topical numbing cream before administering your treatment.
How long does the treatment take?
We will discuss your treatment goals and perform a facial analysis to determine the appropriate treatment areas for you. The actual injection process takes about 10 minutes.
How many injections will I need?
For the crow’s feet area, your doctor will inject 3 areas of the orbicularis oculi, the muscle that surrounds the side of the eye. There will be 3 injections per eye.
For the frown lines area, your doctor will administer 5 injections into 2 muscles in your forehead – 1 in the procerus muscle and 4 in the corrugator muscles.
BOTOX® is also for Men
BOTOX® has also been clinically evaluated in male patients. In clinical studies for moderate to severe frown lines, 17.5% of patients treated with BOTOX® Cosmetic were men. In the clinical studies for moderate to severe crow’s feet, male patients comprised approximately 10% of patients treated with BOTOX®
Side effects associated with the injection include localised pain, infection, inflammation, tenderness, swelling, redness, and/or bleeding/bruising.
BOTOX® is also a proven treatment option for severe underarm sweating when antiperspirants fail.
BOTOX® treats the symptoms of severe underarm sweating when topical medicines do not work well enough in people 18 years and older. It is not known whether BOTOX® is safe or effective for severe sweating anywhere other than your armpits. BOTOX® treatments temporarily block the chemical signals from the nerves that stimulate the sweat glands resulting in reduced sweating.
Sweat is your body’s temperature regulator, but people with this condition have overactive sweat glands where the sweating significantly exceeds the body’s normal requirement for cooling.
Only a medical professional can diagnose severe underarm sweating that is not being effectively managed with clinical strength antiperspirants.
With one treatment clients experienced relief for up to 201 days, or 6.7 months.
